DIY: Herb Containers

Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme...

  1. Wash and peel labels off several tin cans. (You may need to scrub the cans with a soapy sponge to remove glue spots.) Dry thoroughly. Poke a couple of drainage holes in the bottom with a large 3-penny nail.
  2. To give the cans a weathered look, coat them with paint and then lightly wipe off some of the paint with a brush or rag. You don't need to be too exacting about this: the cans should look as though they've been faded by many seasons in the summer sun.
  3. Attach labels to cans with double-sided tape or adhesive.
