My oil paintings consist of classical elements in a contemporary design. My main focus is studying the expressions of light and the relationship of color. Lighting remains my ultimate subject. I like to take the ordinary and view it from a different perspective. I create paintings simply to enjoy the process of being creative.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2000. For the past three years, I’ve managed to balance my art career and our young family of two with the help of my supportive husband. Life is challenging, but good!
I’ve always favored the richness of oil painting. The visible brush strokes and push-pull movement connects the artist on a personal level. I enjoy the density and intensity oils give.
I’m inspired by movement portrayed physically and emotionally through a two-dimensional painting. I find interest in images that capture a thoughtful moment or evoke intimate feelings.
