Get some elegant Halloween table decor inspiration with this black, red and gold Halloween table setting.
I love doing beautiful table settings for different holidays and seasons. This time of year, I’m usually focused on getting ready for Thanksgiving with tablescapes like this purple and silver one or this blush pink table. But this year I found some inspiration from my annual Halloween party, and decided to do a black, red and gold Halloween table setting.
Black, Red and Gold Halloween Table Setting
This past weekend I hosted my annual Halloween party. Every year I pick a theme for the party that I use to figure out what decorations I need.
This year’s theme was Harry Potter. (You can see more of the Harry Potter party here, including my first ever video!).
So you may be wondering what that has to do with my black, red and gold Halloween table setting.
Well, let me tell you…I fell in love with one of the Harry Potter party table color schemes that I created for the party.
So rather than creating a brand new Halloween tablescape, I decided to add a few Halloween accessories to what I already had…and that’s how I ended up with this red and gold Halloween table setting.
The Black, Red and Gold Place Settings
The starting point was pretty simple.
A black tablecloth and black chair covers, with a red runner, red chair covers and red napkins.
To add more of the gold, I added a gold rimmed charger, gold cutlery and a gold napkin ring.
With all of the bright color and shine, my favorite white dinner plates with matte black salad plates help to keep the table grounded.
Black wine glasses and pink water glasses finish off the place setting.
I love how the pink glasses help to soften the black.
The Halloween Centerpiece Vases
For the centerpiece, I used red and black faux flowers and vintage gold candle holders.
The little black vases are actually some wedding party favor vases that I spray painted with black chalkboard paint and black lacquer spray paint.
The difference between the matte chalkboard paint and the shiny black lacquer adds some interest to the vases.
Using little vases allows you to repeat flowers down the center of the table, which helps to pull the table together without costing a lot of money.
The Halloween Centerpiece Accessories
To add more of the Halloween feel, I added some Halloween accessories like this skull on top of some faux books.
The DIY lace candle holders I made a couple of weeks ago fit in pretty well, too.
And the bird cage adds a bit of height and decorative detail to the table.
The centerpiece has just enough Halloween vibe to give the table a bit of that spooky feel.
But it still feels elegant enough for dinner.
