As you may (or may not) know, I love to throw a party. And if I’m going to all the effort of throwing a party, I’m going to do it right.
Which is why I always start planning my parties at least a month (and usually more) in advance.
I have specific steps that I go through to make sure that I’m happy (and more importantly) my guests are happy with how it all turns out.
And that’s where this “plan a (Gatsby) party” challenge comes from.

I’m going to walk you through step-by-step, everything I do to plan a party, using the Great Gatsby party theme as my example. (As you’ll see tomorrow, I always use a party theme to make planning for the party easier).
Starting December 2, 2019, I’ll be sharing party planning posts along with checklists, party decor ideas and tutorials, food and drink recipes and videos that will help you to create an awesome Great Gatsby party.
By the end, we’ll have the whole thing planned and ready to go (except for the actual cooking of course).
What Will It Cover?
Here’s the list of topics I’m going to cover (most will have a few posts with different ideas):
- Party planning and invitations
- Making An Awesome Entrance
- DIY Gatsby party decor
- Table settings and centerpieces
- Gatsby food and drinks
- The dessert table
When Will It Take Place?
Each Entertaining Diva Party Challenge project should be ready to open at about 9:00 AM ET and I’ll be posting two or three days per week, starting December 2.
I’ll be adding the new posts to the list below as they go live (with the latest ones at the top so you can find them easily).
So you can bookmark this page and return every day to follow along.
Or just fill out this form and I’ll send you an email with each day’s project (you can choose if you want daily emails or to get a summary at the end of each week).
Let’s get party planning!
