The color scheme was white, black and pink.  Pink chiffon chair ties are used as the pink ribbons on the table.

Pink and white lanterns are an easy way to add to the decor.  Small battery-operated lights inside each of the lanterns also provide some ambient lighting.

You can order custom banners to spread the Happy Birthday message.  They don’t cost very much and allow you to write whatever you want as the message.

I hung white chiffon fabric over the walls and then added white string lights to provide shimmery light.

Pink flamingoes and feather centerpieces

Replace white light bulbs with pink ones to add that pink glow.  The lighted pink flamingos, and pink and white feather vases added some fun to the decor.

Using pink and white plates, and white place mats sets the table with the theme colors.

Red velvet cupcakes

Main dishes and appetizers are hard to come by in pink, but desserts are easy.  Pretty much any white cake icing can be made pink by adding a few drops of red food coloring.

I served red velvet cake cupcakes with pink cream cheese icing instead of a cake.  Cupcakes are easier to hand out (and eat) when there is a crowd.  And there’s no arguing over who gets the piece with the most icing on it.

Pink candy buffet

Candy buffets are not just for weddings.  Since you can get candies in pretty much any color, it is easy to match your decor…in this case, I used pink, white and silver.

While not exactly pink, cherry cheesecake cupcakes still work well with the pink theme.  They are very easy to make, very easy to serve and everyone loves them!

Pink Lemonade

Pink lemonade is a perfect Pretty In Pink party drink.  It can be served with or without vodka depending on who is drinking it.  Using mason jars with blackboards on the front lets guests keep track of their own drink.
