Daphne is a shade-loving, deer-resistant shrub with very fragrant pink or white blooms.
Most varieties have evergreen leaves and produce flowers in late winter or early spring.
In my garden, it’s one of the plants that lets me know spring is coming.
When I open the front door and can smell the Daphne’s perfume (even before I see the flowers), I know winter is almost over!
It can be a little tricky to get started, but once it is established, Daphne is a very low maintenance plant.
