Those beautiful blooms will appear twice during the season, once in late spring. Then again in late summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It attracts bees and butterflies, and is deer and rabbit resistant<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like all Clematis, it grows best in slightly alkaline soil with the roots shaded and mulched to keep the soil moist and cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So make sure to give it space to expand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like most Hostas, this variety grows best in moist, acidic, well-drained soil in the shade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it’s hot pink flowers will add drama to any summer border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, and is deer resistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But even without the blooms, the foliage alone is stunning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As with many sedums, this plant is heat tolerant, drought tolerant, attracts bees and butterflies, and is rabbit resistant. So it’s definitely a low-maintenance perennial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In fact, fertilizing it or watering it too much are likely to do it in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloom color<\/strong>: N\/A<\/p>\n\n\n\nIf you want a tropical-looking fern for your shade garden, Athyrium otophorum<\/em> Jurassic\u2122 Pterodactyl Eared Lady Fern is a great choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIt is a clump-forming fern with airy, feathery leaves that doesn’t get too big, and looks gorgeous with large-leaved shade plants such as Hostas and Heucheras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its pale green fronds unfurl from red stems and turn darker green as they age. Providing a multi-toned look to your garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As with most ferns, regular watering is a must to keep it healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hydrangeas are one of my weaknesses when it comes to new plants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I couldn’t stick to just one new variety for 2022. I had to find four of them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloom color<\/strong>: lime green to white to pink and red<\/p>\n\n\n\nAs you might have guessed, Hydrangea<\/em><\/em> paniculata<\/em><\/em> Little Lime Punch\u2122<\/sup><\/strong> is a smaller version of the traditional pannicle Hydrangeas and is related to the very popular ‘Little Lime’ variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThis plant has flowers that out green, then change to white and mature to pink and red. As it reblooms, you’ll end up with all colors on the same bush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As with other Hydrangea paniculata plants, it blooms on new wood so you can prune it in the fall or early spring without cutting off any blooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is smaller than many Hydrangeas so fits well in the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As with other reblooming Hydrangeas, this plant blooms on both old and new wood so pruning is discouraged since it will remove future flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Hydrangea can be planted in containers or even large hanging baskets as well as in the landscape border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It does not require deadheading or pruning. Since it blooms on new and old wood, pruning will remove some future blooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it’s definitely a low-maintenance perennial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In fact, fertilizing it or watering it too much are likely to do it in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buy it here<\/a>.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zone<\/strong>: 6 to 9 If you want a tropical-looking fern for your shade garden, Athyrium otophorum<\/em> Jurassic\u2122 Pterodactyl Eared Lady Fern is a great choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a clump-forming fern with airy, feathery leaves that doesn’t get too big, and looks gorgeous with large-leaved shade plants such as Hostas and Heucheras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Its pale green fronds unfurl from red stems and turn darker green as they age. Providing a multi-toned look to your garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As with most ferns, regular watering is a must to keep it healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Find it here<\/a>.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hydrangeas are one of my weaknesses when it comes to new plants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n So I couldn’t stick to just one new variety for 2022. I had to find four of them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zone<\/strong>: 3 to 8 As you might have guessed, Hydrangea<\/em><\/em> paniculata<\/em><\/em> Little Lime Punch\u2122<\/sup><\/strong> is a smaller version of the traditional pannicle Hydrangeas and is related to the very popular ‘Little Lime’ variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This plant has flowers that out green, then change to white and mature to pink and red. As it reblooms, you’ll end up with all colors on the same bush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As with other Hydrangea paniculata plants, it blooms on new wood so you can prune it in the fall or early spring without cutting off any blooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buy it here<\/a>.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zone<\/strong>: 4 to 9 Let’s Dance \u00a1Arriba!\u2122<\/sup> is a reblooming Hydrangea with a flower color that is dependent on soil pH. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The blooms tend to the pink side but will turn blue in acidic soil. And then age to a soft mauve color<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is smaller than many Hydrangeas so fits well in the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As with other reblooming Hydrangeas, this plant blooms on both old and new wood so pruning is discouraged since it will remove future flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Find it here<\/a>.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zone<\/strong>: 3 to 8 The next new Hydrangea has lacecap flowers that bloom on new wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So what does that mean? <\/p>\n\n\n\n A lacecap that still blooms in colder zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It has strong ruby red stems that add even more interest to the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Plant in full sun for best blooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buy it here<\/a>.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zone<\/strong>: 6 to 9 Last but not least on our new 2022 plant list is a cascading Hydrangea with trailing stems covered in frilly, lacey white blooms. And it’s a reblooming variety!<\/p>\n\n\n\n This Hydrangea can be planted in containers or even large hanging baskets as well as in the landscape border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It does not require deadheading or pruning.
