Delphiniums are a summer-blooming perennial that provides truly blue flowers on long flower stalks.
They will do well at the back of the border and may require staking to prevent them from falling over.
Delphiniums don’t like hot weather so they tend to do better in northern climates than in the south.
But I love them so much that in my South Carolina garden, I plant them as annuals in the spring (they always die in the heat of the summer).
