Metals such as gold and silver are traditional Christmas colors for adding a little glam to your decor. So I decided to go all out and use ALL the metals with these mixed metals Christmas tree decor ideas.

Mixed Metals Christmas Tree Decor Ideas

It’s hard to believe that this is the last day of our 12 days of holiday ideas blog hop!

And I think we’ve saved the best for last! Everyone’s fabulous Christmas tree decorations.

This is my second (and third) Christmas tree of the season…and they’re the ones in my living room.

This year I went the full-on glam route by doing them using all different colors of metal – silver, gold and copper all on one tree 🙂

I love how it reflects the light and really sparkles at night.

But Before We Start…

This is the last post of the 2019 12 Days of Holiday Ideas event, hosted by Shirley of Intelligent Domestications  and  Erlene of My Pinterventures.

And today everyone is sharing their Christmas tree decor. You can find a link to the rest of the list below…you’re sure to find a few different options you like!

My Mixed Metals Christmas Tree Decor

The Inspiration

Gold and white wreath hung in the window behind the Christmas tree

I started by hanging the gold and white wreaths I made a couple of weeks ago in my living room windows.

Then used that as the inspiration for the decor on my Christmas tree.

The Ornaments

I started by using wide gold ribbons and the same white and gold magnolia flowers as I used on the wreaths.

Repeating some of the elements helps to tie all of my Christmas decor together.

Then, of course, I had to add the gold glitter bird’s nest ornaments I made last week.

And I had some help from a gorgeous mixed metal ornament set* I bought.

They were a bit of a splurge, but I got them on sale and I think they were totally worth it!

Put all together with some ornaments I already owned, it creates a very glamorous look.

The Night View

While I like Christmas trees during the day, I really love them at night when the lights set the ambiance for the whole room.

You can really see the glitter sparkling on my bird’s nest ornaments.

The metallic ornaments and gold ribbon really create sparkle and glam with all the light they reflect.

Putting the tree in front of a window gives you even more sparkle, since the lights are reflected in the window.

And I love the combination of the metals with the white flocking on the second tree.

The Fireplace Mantel

My two living room Christmas trees are on either side of the fireplace, so of course I had to decorate the mantel.

I do have a large TV over the fireplace, so it’s always a challenge to create a pretty garland without interfering with the TV operation. But keeping the garland low means the remote will still work even though the cable box and speaker are covered.

To make sure that the mantel decor fits in with the trees, I added some of the same ornaments and flowers from the Christmas tree decor to the faux evergreen garland.

And of course, the fireplace mantel wouldn’t be complete without some stockings. I bought these silver velvet stockings in an after-Christmas sale last year…my favorite time to update my Christmas decorations!

Two lanterns and a decorative sleigh filled with Christmas ornaments between the Christmas tree and the fireplace

To finish the look, I added some lanterns and a sleigh full of ornaments on the floor in front of the fireplace. They help to make the tree and mantel look like one cohesive group.

I also used a couple of my favorite techniques for making accessories work…displaying in groups of 3 and using a cake stand to make a short lantern look taller than it is.

Although I’m not sure how long the sleigh will stay there…the cats think the ornaments are toys put out for them to play with.

The Finished Look

Two Christmas trees on either side of the fireplace, all decorate with gold, silver and copper ornaments

With the trees on either side of the fireplace and the mantel in between, there is definitely a focal point in my living room. You don’t even notice the TV that much 🙂

It definitely feels like the holidays around here 🙂
