Blue, White and Gold Christmas Decor Ideas
Blue, white, and gold is such a beautiful Christmas color combination, especially in a living room where you want things to feel light and elegant. With a decorated tree, a few wall accents, and some simple table vignettes, these blue, white and gold Christmas decor ideas bring in holiday charm and just the right amount of sparkle.

This year I decided to set up my tree in my blue, white and gold living room where I have many ginger jar accessories.
To make sure my holiday decorations would fit in with the room decor, I chose to do the tree up in those colors for serene, relaxed, harmonious continuity.
Which also made it really easy to add other Christmas decorations around the room.
So I’m sharing the blue, white and gold Christmas decor ideas and simple touches I added to make this tiny living room feel festive without being cluttered.

1 | Decorate the tree

I decided to take a different, more deliberate approach to decorating the tree than I usually do.
I used ribbons, bows, botanicals, a myriad of clustered ornaments, as well as battery operated LED candles and an extravagant large double bow tree topper.
Many of the ornaments are old favorites that I had on hand. So I didn’t have to spend a lot of money.
And I love the look of all the ribbons combined with the ornaments.
For all the details on how I put it together, read how to decorate a Christmas tree with ribbons.
2 | Wrap gifts in coordinating paper

One of the absolute easiest ways to add a cohesive look to your room’s Christmas decor is to wrap the presents in wrapping paper and ribbons that coordinate with your colors.
You’re probably wrapping them anyway, so you may as well use them as a holiday decor element. And it doesn’t cost a lot of money.
3 | Put up a coordinating Swag

I attached a scotch pine swag to the side of the arch beside the tree by a command hood.
The swag was decorated with a bow made from the same white and gold ribbons used on the tree topper, a navy poinsettia, white ceramic owls, and gold and navy balls.
So it coordinated with the tree but wasn’t too matchy-matchy.
4 | Fill in with mini Christmas trees

The round table in front of the window is the perfect spot for a round gold tray with white and gold trees that are part of my mini tree collection.
Mini Christmas trees are a great way to add Christmas cheer to small areas.
And while I purchased these ones, there are also a lot of creative ways to make your own mini Christmas trees if you prefer a DIY project.
5 | Hang ornaments in the window

Another easy way to add the Christmas spirit to a room is to hang ornaments across the windows.
In my case, I hung white beaded balls from the drapery rod with gold ribbon in front of white sheers at the window.
The ribbon was attached simply and easily to the curtain rob by looping the end over the rod and stapling it to itself.
6 | Add scented candles
I also have a pine scented candle on this table that I light daily for a few hours.
It fills the room with fragrance which immediately adds to the holiday ambiance without taking up a lot of space.
And it makes the room smell like there’s a live Christmas tree in here when there’s not.
Note: When using scented candles (especially in a small room), be sure they are all the same scent. I like to use one scented candle and have all the others unscented, so that the scents do not become confusing.
7 | Put together a ginger jar Christmas centerpiece

On a chest in the opposite corner to the tree, I used a ginger jar as a vase.
Then added 3 types of large artificial evergreen boughs (although you could use real ones), white berry picks and clusters of my DIY Chinoiserie ornaments.
And finished the arrangement with a white ribbon bow.
More gold and white trees and a few navy and white porcelain balls with a majestic blue reclining deer complete the vignette.
8 | Make a small DIY Christmas ornament centerpiece

A DIY table centerpiece made from a Christmas ornament rests on the top of the small contemporary table against the opposite wall.
It’s small enough to fit on this tiny table but still feels very festive.

Now the whole room is coordinated, elegant and restrained. A great place to relax while enjoying the holiday atmosphere.

9 | Put up a window garland

I didn’t do this one in my living room, but if you don’t mind doing a little more work, you can put up a whole window garland using the blue, white and gold color scheme.
It looks pretty magical at night so I think it’s worth the effort!
For all the details, read how to hang a Christmas window garland.
10 | Set a blue, white and gold Christmas table

Ginger jars can also make a great centerpiece for a tablescape.
Combine them with candles, evergreen garland and some blue, gold and white place settings and you have an elegant (but easy) holiday table.
