9 Home Decor Cricut Projects That Will Beautify Your House

This list of beautiful home decor Cricut projects will teach you how to use your machine to save money on decorating and make your home look stunning.

I have to admit, a few years ago, I wasn’t even sure what a Cricut was.

I thought it was mostly for craft projects, so I couldn’t really justify the expense. But now that I know all the things you can use it for, it’s one of my favorite decorating tools!

My road to getting a Cricut started when I wanted to created this DIY ceiling medallion for my den.

The design is pretty intricate and I knew there was no way I would have the patience to cut it out by hand.

So I went on a hunt for a way to take a design on my computer and have it cut from a piece of mat board.

Which is how I came to decide that I needed a cutting machine.

I wasn’t sure if I would get enough use out of it to justify the price. But I really wanted that ceiling medallion, so I went for it.

After trying out another machine, I finally settled on the Cricut Explore Air™ 2*. And I love it! (Although there are some much newer versions on the market now that have a lot more features.)

It makes cutting (and drawing) custom patterns, signs or images from your computer so easy.

Now that I’ve found out how much fun it is to use, I’m on another hunt: To find more awesome home decor ideas that are easy to make with a Cricut machine.

1 | Cricut stencils

I have to say that making custom stencils is one of my favorite Cricut decor projects.

The stencil material* is inexpensive, so if you mess up the first time, it doesn’t cost very much to do it again.

It’s also fairly easy to cut, which means the chances of messing up the first time are much lower.

And you can make exactly the pattern you want. Like I did for my Scalamandre-inspired zebra stencil or the gold dot copycat “wallpaper” my mother did in her living room.

There is no way I would have been able to pull this stencil pattern off without my Cricut.

It also saved me a bunch of money not having to buy really expensive wallpaper.

So the Cricut more than paid for itself in this one project!

2 | Kitchen Towels

These kitchen towel designs from Amy at My Life From Home look just like the ones you see in those expensive kitchen stores.

But they are actually really easy to make (even for beginners) with a Cricut machine and some heat transfer vinyl.

Amy used a Silhouette machine for her project, but the Cricut Explore would do this decor project just as easily.

3 | organization labels

The Cricut Explore Air 2 is also really good at drawing and cutting letters.

The Cricut Design Space app* (that they provide for creating patterns) comes with a ton of built-in lettering styles and fonts.

Which means you can cut pretty much any style of words or letters that you want to.

So you can use your Cricut to create labels that will make organizing things look so much better!

The possibilities are endless! And they’re all definitely a step above your standard label maker look.

4 | Holiday signs

This Gather sign that I made for fall one year was the first text design I tried with my Cricut.

I created the design in Photoshop and then imported it into the Cricut Design Space™ app! But you can also create them directly in the app if Photoshop isn’t your thing.

Other than waiting for the paint to dry, the whole thing took less than an hour to make.

5 | Ceiling Medallion

Of course, I can’t forget the project that started the whole journey for me…the one that made me buy the Cricut Explore Air™ 2* in the first place.

The ceiling medallion from my den / downstairs home office makeover is still one of my favorite DIY projects.

It is also one of the upgrades I’ve done to my house that gets the most comments from people once they find out if is home made.

6 | Wall art

I haven’t done much drawing with my Cricut yet, but I’m dying to try out something.

It’s an inexpensive way to create some pretty wall decor.

And I think this Cricut app feature that turns real pictures into watercolor “paintings” is where I might start.

7 | Personalized door mats

This Cricut door mat project is a great way to add a touch of personalization to your front door.

She used a Cricut-made stencil and some paint so add her own design to a standard Coir door mat.

And the beauty is, you can use whatever design you like to create your own custom welcome mat.

8 | Large paper flowers

I made these large paper flowers with my Cricut for a party a few years ago.

And I loved them so much that now they are part of my spring and summer home decor.

Such an inexpensive way to add a floral motif to my decor. And they definitely make a statement!

9 | Clocks

Now it’s time (no pun intended) to get really creative.

Who knew you could make a clock? It’s made out of wood veneer cut with a Cricut!

Of course, if you don’t need a new clock, you can use its ability to cut veneer to create other patterns out of wood.

Definitely a creative way to put your machine to use.
